Hiranyakashipu cannot be killed by human, deva or animal, but Narasimha is none of these, as he is a form of Vishnu (a deva) incarnate as part human, part animal. Mythology behind Lord Narasimha Bhagavata Purana gives a graphic account of the legend associated with Narasimha. He broke demon Hiranyakashipuâs neck like a twig and clawed his stomach and wore his intestines as a garland, screaming in extreme delight. In the painting Vishnu's unexpected entry catches Hiranyakashyapu unprepared. The other version is vociferous that Narasimha took the form of Gandaberunda, a more ferocious bird-animal mash-up and blew Sharabha to smithereens. Narasimha, (Sanskrit: “Man-Lion”) one of the 10 avatars (incarnations) of the Hindu god Vishnu.The demon Hiranyakashipu—twin brother of Hiranyaksha, the demon overthrown by Vishnu in his previous incarnation as Varaha—obtained a boon from the god Brahma that he could not be killed by human or animal, from inside or outside, by day or by night, and that no weapon could harm him. Then, at the request of Brahma, Prahlada is presented to Narasimha, who is finally calmed by the prayers of his devotee. To which Hiranyakashipu points to a nearby pillar and asks if 'his Vishnu' is in it. The Narasimha Avatar Story: Lord Vishnu, in his third incarnation as Varaha Avatar, killed Hiranyaksha, who was the brother of Hiranyakashipu.
